A Passion for Dentistry
Dr. Doan's profession means the world to him. He is invigorated by the uniqueness of all his patients and loves talking to them and learning about their lives. He loves calling them by name and letting them know he knows there is a person with feelings behind every tooth he works on. He loves being able to get people out of pain, and educate them about how to keep this from happening in the future.
As a dentist, Dr. Doan is able to assist in making positive changes in the lives of people in his community. It’s a pleasure for him to help a person who has dental anxiety, learn that they have nothing to fear in a visit to our office, and seeing their smiles at the end of a painless visit, is a great feeling.
Dr. Doan chose dentistry because he knew he wanted to work in the healthcare field, and he likes being creative with his hands. He also wanted to have long-term relationships with people, and to build relationships with them while helping them get healthy. After practicing dentistry for over 30 years, he can honestly say he loves the profession now even more than when he started!
Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Doan was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences, in Memphis. In addition to his degree, he pursues continuing education (CE) at every opportunity. Because oral healthcare is a field where there are constant developments in treatment practices, technologies, and materials, it’s essential every dentist stay abreast of these changes.
Through the Seattle Study Club, seminars, and attendance at dental conferences, he is able to remain current on the latest, proven care options. This ensures his patients receive the best treatment and service available, in a safe, educated, and caring environment.
Dr. Doan grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, though Memphis has been his home for more than 30 years. He has two beautiful children: his son practices law in Denver, Colorado, and his daughter is a child life specialist. He also has 2 grandchildren that he treasures getting to spend time with.
He loves his friends and family, and makes it a priority to spend time with them. He is an avid Bikram Yoga student, and tries to practice that three to four times a week. He also loves to travel, eat at nice restaurants, and has been known to cook an amazing meal at home, too. He focuses on staying “centered” and being the individual that he is.
